　　阿忠（黄秋生 饰）从小就想成为一名警察，然而，视力不好的他无法达到警局的要求，无奈之下，他只得当起了交通督导员。一次偶然中，阿忠和曾经的好友乔尼（林保怡 饰）的重逢了，此时的乔尼已经成为了肩负重任的探员，这让阿忠感到羡慕不已。然而没过多久，乔尼便失踪了，只留下十分焦急的女友琳达（王馨平 饰）向阿忠求助。                                                                    　　在调查乔尼下落的过程中，阿忠发现乔尼失踪前的动向十分的扑朔迷离，不仅如此，他似乎还和黑帮纠缠不清。一天，黑帮马仔阿第（许志安 饰）找到了琳达，向她讨要乔尼欠下的高利贷，然而却被琳达美丽的外表所深深吸引。
